Liberal aggression

It’s gotten to the point where I don’t really like writing about politics because there is plenty of division and hate burning in America without my throwing any gasoline on the fire. If I publish this article and post a link on Facebook, I expect there will be some people perfectly willing to defend horrible behavior, as if the end can be justified by the means. Sigh.

When I do post something on my blog with a political slant, you can rest assured that I felt like I have no choice but to write it. As much as I’d rather be working on a novel, a short story, or even watching paint dry than arguing about politics, occasionally I’ll see something that makes me stop what I’m doing to press both hands over my ears in order to keep my brains from leaking out. And then I’ll have to write another article like this one I’m writing now, because I can’t witness evil in action and remain silent.

I really don’t want to get into the pro-life versus pro-choice debate at the moment, because it’s much more important to focus on the mindset of our social justice warrior, the “star” in this video. It’s quite disturbing to realize this young liberal thinks his behavior won’t have adverse consequences. He’s stealing private property on camera, in broad daylight. The exchange caught my attention early, when an off camera pro-life person pointed out that stealing their personal property was illegal and the liberal’s sarcastic response showed nothing but contempt for the law, as if he was above it.

“Why are you doing this?” another pro-life demonstrator asked.

“Because I disagree with the message,” the brazen thief replied. Yet when asked to participate in respectful discussion, the thief chose to continue stealing and said, “I don’t think it is worth it to talk to you guys.”

Then the conversation got really interesting: “So, you think it’s better to violently act out rather than talk about something?”

“Yeah, because pro-life arguments have about as much merit as flat-earth arguments,” the thief said, confusing an incoherent thought with a clever reply.

The reason I wanted to separate the argument from the behavior is simple: some people might see the video and think it’s okay because the people under attack were conservative pro-life Christians opposed to “a woman’s reproductive rights” (an admittedly clever euphemism for the woman’s right to deliberate terminate her own pregnancy by killing the child in utero), but let’s conduct a simple thought experiment. Imagine replacing the pink crosses with little rainbow flags, and the students under attack were part of the gay community instead of pro-life, conservative Christians. Would anyone defend a counter-protestor stealing a bunch of their rainbow flags?

Only if they don’t mind being labeled a homophobe.

Dr. George Tiller was murdered in church by an anti-abortion extremist. Eric Rudolph is a terrorist and murderer motivated to kill by his anti-abortion beliefs. There are extremists on both sides of the aisle. The only difference between a liberal and me is that I condemn the actions of Eric Rudolph, but I don’t see any liberals condemning the actions of BAMN or Antifa thugs. It will be nice when liberals begin condemning the extremists on their side of the argument. It is morally and logically absurd to commit murder in order to allegedly prevent murders. Violence should not be an option, except in self-defense. The first video was pretty bad. This next one is much, much worse.

Sadly, violence seems to be coming more and more acceptable among liberal extremists, as this video of gay Asian conservative journalist being viciously punched, kicked, and assaulted by multiple masked assailants acting like wild animals shows. Andy Ngo had to be treated at the hospital for his injuries. This is truly appalling, utterly indefensible (and very illegal) behavior.

This cannot be allowed to happen in America. It happened in the 1960s in the Deep South as racist Democrats opposed civil rights for black Americans, until Selma happened. Millions of decent Americans were horrified by the violent response to a non-violent protest. Their collective outrage was seen, heard, and felt around the world. This sort of violent intolerance simply cannot be tolerated. There are more (mostly) good people than (mostly) bad people in America, and it only takes the good ones getting organized for law and order to prevail.

So the next time these masked goons begin to march in the streets of Portland, I hope to see federal agents or military personnel protecting the rights of peaceful anti-protest demonstrators. The feds need to arrest the ringleaders of these cowards because sooner or later, someone will find out the hard way that it’s a bad idea to bring a bicycle lock or a baseball bat to a gun fight. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth when some of these Antifa scum have become room temperature. That will be too bad, but not nearly as bad as if the Antifa thugs had beaten Andy Ngo to death.

Enough is enough. Before American liberals declare open war on their conservative brothers and sisters, they might do well to remember that the opposing side enthusiastically supports the Second Amendment and the right to bear arms.
